Beach volleyball on a 3D island

The sand court on ElyParty is a live rally game inside the social island: walk up, tap the court to join, and play against friends or the island AI. Sets are won at 7 points, and the first team to take two sets wins the match.

How a match works

  • Click your own half of the court to move your character into position.
  • Click the opponent half to aim where you want the ball to land.
  • A new serve starts after a 3-second countdown, and the rally is live.
  • Land the ball inside the opponent court to score; balls out of bounds give the point to the other team.
  • First team to 7 points takes the set. Win two sets and the match is yours.

Serves, spikes, and passes

You can send the ball over gently or hammer it. A spike serve travels at twice the normal speed and is aimed at the front half of the court - risky, because a spike aimed too low can clip the net and hand the advantage back.

When the ball comes toward you, reception is automatic: get close and the touch is yours. Hold the pass action to fire the ball at a teammate at double speed, which is how you set up a counter-attack instead of just returning it.

Play with friends or against the island AI

Teams fill as players arrive: the court balances blue and red automatically, so nobody has to referee. If one side is empty, the island AI takes the open spot and rallies back at you - useful for practising serves before your friends join.

Every player in the island can watch the match from the sand; the scoreboard and event messages are synced to everyone in the room.

Rewards

Volleyball feeds the same player score as everything else on the island. Each set you win is worth 10 points and a match championship adds 20, which stacks up quickly toward the 100 points needed to create your own island room.

Leaving the court

Press E, or use the highlighted volleyball button in the bottom bar, to step off the court and go back to exploring the island. Your score stays on your player profile, and the court keeps running for whoever is still playing.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need four players for beach volleyball?
No. One player per side is enough to start a match, and the island AI fills any empty side so you can play solo.
How do you win a volleyball match on ElyParty?
A set is won at 7 points and the first team to win two sets takes the match. Balls that land out of bounds give the point to the opposing team.
Is the volleyball court free to play?
Yes. The court sits on the public island - walk up and join. It is also available as a buildable object in the world builder if you want one on your own island.
How do I serve?
Serves start automatically after a short countdown. Choose a normal or spike serve, then click the opponent half of the court to set the landing target.
