Voice chat that lives inside the 3D world
ElyParty pairs its 3D island with live voice chat, so hanging out feels like standing next to someone instead of typing at them. Your microphone is only active when you unmute it, and audio travels directly between players instead of through a recording server.
- One tap to talk: the mic button in the bottom bar, or the M key
- Deafen all incoming voice instantly from the header
- Speaking halos above avatars and a radio that ducks while people talk
- Text chat with 3D speech bubbles floating over your character
How voice works in ElyParty
Voice is WebRTC, peer to peer. Each player in the island opens a direct audio connection to the others, and the ElyParty server only helps browsers find each other during connection setup. That keeps latency low and means your voice is not stored anywhere by us.
Nothing is captured until you turn the microphone on. When you mute again, the audio track is stopped and released - the browser microphone indicator goes out because the hardware really is released, not just silenced.
Controls
- Microphone: tap the mic button in the bottom bar, or press M.
- Deafen: mute all incoming voice from the speaker control in the header.
- Speaking indicator: a glowing halo marks whoever is talking, in 3D space.
- Leave the mic off: you can play everything - cards, volleyball, building - without ever unlocking your microphone.
Text chat, on screen and in the world
If you would rather type, the chat drawer keeps the conversation going with an unread badge for messages that arrive while you are walking around. Every chat message also appears as a floating speech bubble above the avatar who sent it, so the person standing next to you can read it in the 3D world itself.
Comfort and privacy
- Echo cancellation and noise suppression are applied to the microphone, so playing on speakers still works.
- Headphones give the cleanest result when several people talk at once.
- Voice activity automatically lowers the island radio so chat stays audible.
- Island hosts can approve or remove players, and you can always leave an island and join another one.
Works on phones and desktops
ElyParty runs in modern browsers on desktop and mobile. The same mic, deafen, and chat controls are available in both layouts, and the island plays the same rooms from the phone in your pocket. If audio ever seems silent, tap the mic button once - browsers require a tap before they allow audio.
